One Voice

One Voice, July 9-15, is a fundraising event about protecting the rights of creators. Donations will go to assist Gala Phoenix with her legal costs as she fights to clear her name and get back her business – Curio. The full story can be found on the Curio website, but the Reader’s Digest version is that because someone has abused the DMCA process, the process which is supposed to protect creators’ intellectual property, Gala has lost her SL business – her primary source of income – and faces massive court costs for copyright litigation. It’s disgusting to think that someone, the owner of Hush Skins, can not only rip off someone’s hard work and pass it off as their own for a profit, but also quickly file for a copyright in their home country when they realize they’ve been found out. It’s sad, it’s shameful, and One Voice is about creators coming together in support of each others’ rights because if it can happen to Gala, it can happen to any creator on the grid.

One Voice will open at midnight on July 9th. The event is HUGE, with creators having up to four items with 50-100% of proceeds going to assist Gala. Some of the creators who have teamed up include:

Not Your Ordinary Fairy Tale

The Fairy Tales event opened yesterday with a number of SL creators working with a Fairy Tale theme. You’ll find skins, jewelry, clothing, poses and more at the event. This is not your traditional fairy tale with the Snow White inspired skin by Belleza, Princess hair by Wasabi Pills, and Grimm Corset by Aura.

Snow White gets darker in the Darkest Nights prop art set by Tableau Vivant. The pose set includes backdrop and twelve poses for men and women and is also available at the event.

52 Weeks of Color Part Deux – Week 12 – St. Patrick’s Blue

The first color when I think of “St. Patrick” is definitely not blue! It’s a really pretty shade of blue and while I knew I didn’t have anything specifically “St. Patrick’s Blue”, I do have a lot of blue to choose from. The peacock color from DCNY matched the color swatch really well so that is what I went with for this week.

Pencil Skirt Love

In case you’ve been living under a rock, Mayfair, the new home for Celoe and Mon Tissu, opened yesterday. It’s an amazing mesh build of London’s Mayfair and as part of the grand opening, both stores released several new items. I have never hidden my love of the system skirt. I just love the way a pencil skirt hugs curves. The Nikka skirt is available in a number of colors ranging from neutrals to brights, and is standard sized mesh.
