In Knots
Laqroqi released a new line of skins this week called Essential. Currently there are two skins in this line, Saga and Elle. The body of the skins has been reworked and is lovely. Gone is the shiny skin from the Glow line and in my opinion that is a great thing as the skins have a more natural look to them. The interesting thing about the Essential skins is “mixing and matching”. Basically, if you own both skins, you can use tattoo layers from one to make the other look different. Like… the Saga face with the Elle nose. Sylvia Olivier did a fantastic post showing this. My jewelry is my latest work – Knotted – and will be available very, very, very soon.

The top I am wearing is actually the top of the Leira gown from Azul. I’m not really a fan of the open leg on the skirt of the gown, but I really like the top when paired with the pencil skirt from CoCo. The gorgeous shoes I’m wearing are the Eve Flower Pumps from G’Field. The roses are color change and able to be hidden which is really a nice feature.

“Me and my shadow, Strolling down the avenue”
I’m a Mac user and I have been trying – unsuccessfully – for the past few months to get shadows to render in my SL viewer. I’ve tried Kirsten’s Viewer, Phoenix and various revisions of the official viewer and prior to tonight, I had absolutely no luck. I’d been working off of Strawberry Singh’s tutorials for enabling shadows in the various viewers but in spite of the tutorials being really well done, I still had no luck. Tonight, the stars aligned for me and I was able to get shadows to render partially in Phoenix (shadows render but alpha textures do not) and completely in the SL 2.5 Beta Viewer (YAY!). Kirsten’s Viewer still crashes. What was different about tonight? I followed the exact same steps I had before using Berry’s tutorials, but this time, I checked the hardware skinning box. Berry mentions this for ATI video cards, but apparently my NVIDIA really wanted that box checked. So hopefully this helps a Mac user that is struggling to get things working. Below are my system specifications for reference.

Just a very simple, feminine look for this Monday morning. I love the versatility of the components of this outfit. All of them can be dressed up or down. The jewelry I’m wearing is a sneak peek at an upcoming MOOD release – the Pagani Ensemble. If you’re a fan of MOOD (formerly AlaMood) jewelry, the necklace may look familiar as it is similar to one of Jori’s earlier creations. The textures of the Pagani Ensemble – available in bronze, steel, platinum and gold (as pictured) – are impeccable and the end result is just gorgeous and versatile.
