Collabor88 Is Open!

February’s Great Collabor88

I’ll tell you what real love is. It is blind devotion, unquestioning self humiliation, utter submission, trust and belief against yourself and against the whole world, giving up your whole heart and soul to the smiter–as I did.

The title is a bit of a play on words there as two of my favorite novels are used by creators as inspiration for this month’s Collabor88 theme, Classic Novels. Great Expectations introduces the character Miss Havisham, a heartbroken, bitter spinster who was left at the altar by a man who only wanted her money. She spends the rest of her life a social recluse, never removing her wedding gown, and uses her adopted daughter, Estella, as a pawn for vicarious revenge against men. For Collabor88, Nylon Outfitters has two versions of Miss Havisham’s wedding gown – new and worn – and Yummy has Miss Havisham’s broken heart, a pretty pearl and cameo necklace. The creators have outdone themselves with this theme and you’ll find furniture, poses, clothing, shoes, skins and hair all drawing inspiration from the theme and palette.

New Year, New Collabor88

It’s the 8th which means it’s time to Collabor88 again! There’s a new collection at a new location, so be sure to update your landmarks! I fell in love with this kimono dress by Nylon Outfitters. It’s not my usual style, but like most of Nylon’s work it’s fun, quirky, and has awesome hand drawn textures. This is one of the few stores where I’m willing to overlook a few seams for a fun look that I love. My hair is one of two by Clawtooth available at Collabor88. I really like the simple, casually mussed up style.

Sexy Vintage @ Collabor88

Stand still with me

What way to better show off a sexy, pretty slip than in a bedroom with a hot guy? I sure can’t think of one. This is kind of a picture heavy post, but I couldn’t decide on just two so you get three and my Flickr photostream has one more. Among the great finds at this month’s Collabor88 is this absolutely gorgeous vintage slip dress from Nylon Outfitters. It’s soft, feminine… I just love it. I really hope Nylon releases this in additional colors because I would totally fatpack them.

Yummy, one of this month’s guest designers, has a pretty, delicate pearl necklace that will go with almost anything, including the slip. The poses that are used are from Diesel Works and Exposeur, two of my favorite places to go for couples poses (and individual poses, for that matter).

The October Collabor88 collection is full of rich, autumn colors. Such a festive, sparkly look tonight! The Metallic Corset Dress from Nylon Outfitters is available in two plush colors. The sexy, corseted skirt can be worn separately and the purple color is just gorgeous. The super-delicate Lia Crystal Earrings are Earthstones’ Collabor88 offering and are available in gold and silver versions of several gemstones.
